Funds collected for the Social Service Program are expended in accordance with the Mission of the Chapter, Metropolis and National Social Service guidelines, and are meant to improve the quality of life for those in need of assistance within the Orthodox community and are provided in a way that maintains the dignity and self-determination of the individual. All funds are extended throughout the five regions of the Metropolis, to better serve those in need.
Funds collected through our Metropolis Office Fund, approved by chapter delegation at the May 2009 Clergy/Laity Assembly and Philoptochos Conference enable us, as a unified body, to assist in the operations of our Metropolis home offices in Westfield, New Jersey. Philoptochos stewards, belonging to a ministry of the Church that is vested with the responsibility of a Mission that includes the ‘perpetuation of our Orthodox Faith’ recognize that our Metropolis home must be kept strong through the efforts of every church and ministry.
In a motion approved by the Metropolis of New Jersey Philoptochos delegation at the May 2017 Clergy/Laity Assembly and Philoptochos Conference, it was decided that all chapters within the Metropolis of New Jersey, would contribute an amount, determined by the chapter, for the Schools of the Patriarchate. Thank you for your support of this beautiful and meaningful commitment.
